On March 26, 2026, Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026, signed the approval for the press release regarding the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026, organized by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, aims to honor the national cultural identity and cultural values ​​of the Hung Kings era; affirming the sacred significance of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - a national holiday of the Vietnamese people.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026, organized by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, aims to honor the national cultural identity and cultural values ​​of the Hung Kings era; affirming the sacred significance of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - a national holiday of the Vietnamese people.

Through this, it contributes to educating about patriotic traditions, the moral principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," expressing gratitude for the merits of the Hung Kings and ancestors who contributed to building and defending the nation, and strengthening the great national unity towards the origins.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the year of the Horse 2026 will be organized with many unique activities, embodying the heroic spirit of the Hung Kings era and continuing in contemporary society.

In particular, the Hung Kings Commemoration Day activities will be organized solemnly, respectfully, and reverently according to national cultural traditions with the ritual of offering incense and flowers by delegations from the Party, Government, central ministries and agencies, provinces and cities, and a large number of people nationwide.

The series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities during the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week will be organized in a joyful, healthy manner, deeply rooted in the cultural identity of the ancestral land.

At the same time, it will widely promote the potential and strengths of Phu Tho's cultural tourism resources to people nationwide, overseas Vietnamese, and international tourists.

Main activities will be held from April 17th, 2026 to April 26th, 2026 (corresponding to March 1st to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

Location: At the Hung Temple National Special Historical Relic Site and in the communes and wards of the province.

The festival will be organized in two main parts: traditional rituals (the ceremonial part) and a series of cultural, sports, and tourism events (the festive part). Specifically as follows:

I. Traditional Rituals (Ceremony Part) of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026

1. Incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings by communes and wards in the province from April 7 - 21, 2026 (i.e., from February 20 - March 5, Year of the Horse).

2. Commemoration Ceremony for National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and Incense offering ceremony to commemorate Ancestral Mother Au Co on April 22, 2026 (i.e., March 6, Year of the Horse).

3. Palanquin procession by communes and wards in the Hung Temple area on April 23, 2026 (i.e., March 7, Year of the Horse).

4. Commemoration Ceremony of Hung Kings' Ancestors and Flower Offering at the relief sculpture "Uncle Ho speaking with officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army" on April 26, 2026 (corresponding to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

II. Series of cultural, sports, and tourism events (festival part) at the Hung Kings' Ancestors Commemoration Ceremony - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026

1. Opening art program of the Hung Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026, held at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri Ward at 8:00 PM on April 17, 2026 (corresponding to the 1st day of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

2. A cultural camp and exhibition showcasing and promoting local products will be held at Phu Bung Hill, Hung Temple Historical Site from April 17th to April 26th (corresponding to March 1st to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

3. The Phu Tho Provincial Folk Arts Festival will be held at the Festival Center, Hung Temple Historical Site from April 20th to April 25th (corresponding to March 4th to March 9th in the Lunar calendar, Year of the Horse).

4. The Street Folk Culture Festival will be held on several streets in Viet Tri Ward from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM on April 24th (corresponding to March 8th in the Lunar calendar, Year of the Horse).

5. Exhibitions and displays:

- A documentary exhibition with the theme "Phu Tho - Converging Traditions, Spreading the Future" will be held at the Provincial Library from April 17th to April 26th (corresponding to March 1st to March 10th in the Lunar calendar, Year of the Horse).

- The thematic exhibition “Culture of the Hung Kings Era - The Quintessence of Convergence” will be held at the Hung Kings Museum, Viet Tri Ward, from April 13th to May 4th (corresponding to February 26th to March 18th of the Year of the Horse).

6. The first Phu Tho Provincial Rice Cake Wrapping and Cooking Competition at the Festival Center, Hung Temple Historical Site, will be held on April 24th (corresponding to March 8th of the Year of the Horse).

11. Bronze drum performances, traditional music performances, lion and dragon dance performances... at the Hung Temple Historical Site from April 22nd to April 26th (corresponding to March 6th to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

12. Performances of traditional Xoan singing at An Thai Temple, Thet Temple, Lai Len Shrine, Kim Dai Temple, and Hung Lo Temple from April 22nd to April 26th (corresponding to March 6th to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

15. Physical education, sports activities and traditional folk games at the Hung Kings Historical Relic Site from April 19th to April 26th (i.e., from March 3rd to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

16. Hung Kings Cup National Strong Teams Volleyball Tournament at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center from April 23rd to April 26th (i.e., from March 7th to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

17. The traditional boat race on Van Lang Park Lake will open at 8:00 AM on April 25th (corresponding to the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

18. The "Colorful Tourism of the Ancestral Land - Phu Tho 2026" event will be held at the stage area of ​​Van Lang Park and the sidewalk of Van Lang Park, Tran Phu Street, from April 22nd to April 26th (corresponding to March 6th to March 10th of the Year of the Horse).

19. The Hung Vuong Fair 2026 will be held at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri Ward, from April 22nd to April 28th, 2026 (corresponding to March 6th to March 12th of the Year of the Horse).

Cultural, sports, and tourism activities will be expanded in scale and scope (more activities will take place at the Historical Site and in localities throughout the province), forming a series of events within the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week.

This activity contributes to expanding cultural diplomacy and promoting the image of Phu Tho to international friends.

One of the highlights is the restored Street Folk Culture Festival. This activity will connect with the "Colorful Tourism of the Ancestral Land" program and showcase award-winning performances from the folk art festival, creating a continuous chain that attracts a large number of people and tourists, while preserving and promoting the unique cultural heritage values ​​of the Ancestral Land – the origin of the Vietnamese nation, in line with the cultural development orientation of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Congress Resolution.

Within the framework of the program, several activities such as the Marathon, the Hung Vuong Cup Golf Tournament, the Street Folk Culture Festival, the Boat Racing Competition on Van Lang Park Lake, and the artistic orchid exhibition are socialized, contributing to enhancing the attractiveness of the Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week.The Organizing Committee for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026 has developed plans to ensure security and order, traffic safety; disease prevention and control, and environmental hygiene to serve the people and tourists from all over the country who come to experience the activities during the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the Year of the Horse 2026.

To ensure security and order and compliance with the law, press agencies, organizations, and individuals using drones (Flycams) to photograph and record activities during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day must have a flight permit from the Operations Department - General Staff, Ministry of National Defense.

The Organizing Committee for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Hung Kings Land Culture and Tourism Week in the year of the Horse 2026 has assigned the Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the focal point for receiving, coordinating, and supporting the provision of information, documents, and images to journalists from central and local newspapers nationwide via the Zalo group "Information on Hung Kings Commemoration Day 2026".
